How do I write better prompts?

Be specific about subject, action, setting, lighting and camera. Add reference images or a saved character when something has to look the same every time.

  • Lead with the subject and what it's doing: "a woman in a red coat walking through rain".
  • Add setting and light: "neon-lit Tokyo street at night, wet reflections".
  • For video, describe the camera: "slow dolly in", "handheld", "drone orbit".
  • Use references for faces, products or outfits instead of describing them.
  • Change one thing per attempt so you know what made the difference.
  • Browse Explore for prompts that already work.
