Why did my generation fail?

The message on the job tells you why. Most failures are a temporary timeout (just try again) or a content check on the prompt or references. Credits are refunded either way.

"This was a temporary timeout"

Nothing was wrong with your prompt. Try again; it usually works on the next attempt.

"The generated audio was flagged"

Turn off sound for that generation, or change what the prompt asks the audio to say.

"Cannot use a human-looking raw image reference"

For video, save the photo as a Character or Asset first, then use it by its @handle.

"This video shows a real person's face"

Reference videos and Kitsune clips can't show a real person's face. Use a clip without a visible face.

"This model cannot use characters or image references"

Some models don't accept every kind of reference. Switch to Seedance 2.0, or remove the reference.

"For unrestricted workflows, upgrade to the Pro plan"

Creator video runs with stricter content filters. Rephrase the prompt, or upgrade to Pro for Unrestricted video.

"Reference is outside the supported size"

  • Images: re-upload a normal photo between about 300 and 6000 pixels wide.
  • Reference videos: re-upload at 720p–1080p, 4 to 15 seconds.
  • Audio references: 15 seconds or shorter, used together with an image or video reference.

"Saved references must be re-saved" or "re-upload it"

An older saved character, asset or upload needs refreshing. Open it and save it again, or upload the file again, then retry.
