fal.ai Seedance alternative

fal.ai Seedance alternative: the KreatorFlow API

fal.ai and KreatorFlow both sell ByteDance's Seedance 2.0 by the second of video. At Seedance 2.0 at 720p and 1080p, and Seedance 2.0 Fast at 720p, the KreatorFlow API costs less than the price fal.ai prints on its model page: a 5-second Seedance 2.0 clip at 720p is $0.55 here and $1.52 on fal.ai. Below: the prices, how each side bills, and what changes in your request.

  • REST /v1 endpoints
  • 1 token = $0.05

  • Idempotency-Key

Seedance 2.0, 720p · $0.110/s · $0.55 per 5 s clip

Where the KreatorFlow API costs less than fal.ai

Price per 5-second clip and per second of video, 16:9, no video input. KreatorFlow rounds each job to the next whole token, so the per-clip price is what you are charged. fal.ai is shown at the price on its own model page. Only settings where KreatorFlow costs less are listed: 3 here, between 62% and 64% less per clip.

Switching from fal.ai

What changes in a Seedance request when you move it from fal.ai to the KreatorFlow API. fal.ai's side is described as its own API docs show it, with the link below.

  1. Send the job to POST https://kreatorflow.ai/v1/videos instead of fal.queue.submit("bytedance/seedance-2.0/text-to-video", { input }).
  2. Authenticate with Authorization: Bearer $KREATORFLOW_API_KEY, a key from the developer console, instead of FAL_KEY.
  3. Name the model in the body: "kreator-video-seedance-2" for Seedance 2.0, "kreator-video-seedance-2-fast" for Seedance 2.0 Fast.
  4. Move the fields out of "input": prompt, resolution, duration, aspect_ratio and generate_audio go at the top level of the JSON body.
  5. Use a clip length of 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 15 seconds; "auto" for an automatic length is not accepted.
  6. Send aspect_ratio "adaptive" where you sent "auto".
  7. Send generate_audio: true if you want audio: it is on by default there and off by default here.
  8. Replace fal.queue.status / fal.queue.result and webhookUrl with webhook_url (signed with X-KreatorFlow-Signature) or GET /v1/jobs/{job_id}, and add an Idempotency-Key header so a retried request returns the same job.

What the KreatorFlow API includes

  • KreatorFlow is an official BytePlus partner, and the API runs ByteDance's Seedance models through BytePlus.
  • One API key for every model, with scoped permissions.
  • Signed webhooks for job.completed, job.failed, job.canceled and job.blocked, or poll GET /v1/jobs/{job_id}.
  • Prepaid tokens from a $20 top-up, no subscription. Tokens reserved for a job that fails are released back to your balance.

FAQ

Is the KreatorFlow API cheaper than fal.ai for Seedance?

At every setting in the table, yes: Seedance 2.0 at 720p and 1080p, and Seedance 2.0 Fast at 720p, between 62% and 64% less per clip. For example, Seedance 2.0 at 720p is $0.110 per second on KreatorFlow against $0.303 on fal.ai: $0.55 against $1.52 for a 5-second clip. Settings where fal.ai costs the same or less are not listed.

Is it the same Seedance model?

Both APIs sell ByteDance's Seedance under that name. KreatorFlow is an official BytePlus partner.

How does KreatorFlow API billing work?

You buy prepaid tokens (1 token = $0.05, top-ups from $20). A video job costs its per-second rate times the clip length, rounded to the next whole token. Tokens reserved for a failed job are released.

Do fal.ai's Seedance prices include audio?

fal.ai labels its Seedance 2.0 prices "with audio", and its API docs say the cost is the same whether audio is generated or not. On the KreatorFlow API, generate_audio is off unless you send true, and the token price is the same either way.

Why are 480p and 4K not compared with fal.ai?

fal.ai prints a per-second Seedance 2.0 price for 720p and 1080p only. For 480p and 4K it gives the token formula (height × width × duration × 24 / 1024) without a printed price, so we leave them out rather than work a price out for it.

fal.ai accepts any clip length from 4 to 15 seconds. Does KreatorFlow?

The KreatorFlow API takes Seedance 2.0 clips of 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 15 seconds and refuses other lengths, such as 7, 9, 11, 13 and 14 seconds, with duration_not_supported. fal.ai's "auto" length has no equivalent: pick a fixed length.

Is KreatorFlow part of fal.ai?

No. KreatorFlow is an independent company with no connection to fal.ai.
