Replicate Seedance alternative

Replicate Seedance alternative: the KreatorFlow API

Replicate bills ByteDance's Seedance per second of output video, with one rate for requests without a video input and another for requests with one. Against its rate without video input, the KreatorFlow API costs less at Seedance 2.0 at 720p, 1080p and 4K, Seedance 2.0 Fast at 480p and 720p, and Seedance 2.5 at 720p: a 5-second Seedance 2.0 clip at 720p is $0.55 here and $0.90 on Replicate. Below: the prices, how each side bills, and how a Replicate request maps to ours.

Where the KreatorFlow API costs less than Replicate

Price per 5-second clip and per second of video, 16:9, no video input. KreatorFlow rounds each job to the next whole token, so the per-clip price is what you are charged. Replicate is shown at the price on its own model page. Only settings where KreatorFlow costs less are listed: 6 here, between 9% and 46% less per clip.

Switching from Replicate

What changes in a Seedance request when you move it from Replicate to the KreatorFlow API. Replicate's side is described as its own API docs show it, with the link below.

  1. Send the job to POST https://kreatorflow.ai/v1/videos instead of POST https://api.replicate.com/v1/models/bytedance/seedance-2.0/predictions.
  2. Authenticate with Authorization: Bearer $KREATORFLOW_API_KEY, a key from the developer console, instead of Authorization: Bearer $REPLICATE_API_TOKEN.
  3. Name the model in the body: "kreator-video-seedance-2" for Seedance 2.0, "kreator-video-seedance-2-fast" for Seedance 2.0 Fast, "kreator-video-seedance-2-5" for Seedance 2.5.
  4. Move the fields out of "input": prompt, resolution, duration, aspect_ratio and generate_audio go at the top level of the JSON body.
  5. Use a clip length of 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 15 seconds; "-1" for an automatic length is not accepted.
  6. Send generate_audio: true if you want audio: it is on by default there and off by default here.
  7. Replace GET /v1/predictions/{id} and webhook with webhook_url (signed with X-KreatorFlow-Signature) or GET /v1/jobs/{job_id}, and add an Idempotency-Key header so a retried request returns the same job.

What the KreatorFlow API includes

  • KreatorFlow is an official BytePlus partner, and the API runs ByteDance's Seedance models through BytePlus.
  • One API key for every model, with scoped permissions.
  • Signed webhooks for job.completed, job.failed, job.canceled and job.blocked, or poll GET /v1/jobs/{job_id}.
  • Prepaid tokens from a $20 top-up, no subscription. Tokens reserved for a job that fails are released back to your balance.

FAQ

Is the KreatorFlow API cheaper than Replicate for Seedance?

At every setting in the table, yes: Seedance 2.0 at 720p, 1080p and 4K, Seedance 2.0 Fast at 480p and 720p, and Seedance 2.5 at 720p, between 9% and 46% less per clip. For example, Seedance 2.0 at 720p is $0.110 per second on KreatorFlow against $0.180 on Replicate: $0.55 against $0.90 for a 5-second clip. Settings where Replicate costs the same or less are not listed.

Is it the same Seedance model?

Both APIs sell ByteDance's Seedance under that name. KreatorFlow is an official BytePlus partner.

How does KreatorFlow API billing work?

You buy prepaid tokens (1 token = $0.05, top-ups from $20). A video job costs its per-second rate times the clip length, rounded to the next whole token. Tokens reserved for a failed job are released.

Which Replicate price do you compare against?

The per-second price Replicate lists for output without a video input (its non_video_in variant) at the same resolution. Replicate lists a separate rate for requests with a video input; those are not in the table.

Is there an equivalent of Replicate's Prefer: wait?

No. A KreatorFlow video request returns a job id right away. Pass webhook_url to receive job.completed, job.failed, job.canceled or job.blocked, signed with X-KreatorFlow-Signature, or poll GET /v1/jobs/{job_id}.

Do I keep the input object from Replicate?

No. Replicate nests the parameters under "input". On KreatorFlow, prompt, duration, resolution, aspect_ratio and generate_audio sit at the top level of the JSON body, next to "model". Clip lengths are 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 15 seconds; -1 for an automatic length is not accepted.

Is KreatorFlow part of Replicate?

No. KreatorFlow is an independent company with no connection to Replicate.
