Vibe editing: you describe the video, the AI does the steps

You used to need ten apps to make one short video. With vibe editing you say what you want, react to what you get, and an AI agent writes, generates, cuts and captions it for you. Here's what it is and how to do it with Kiryu.

  • Made for TikTok, Reels and Shorts
  • No timeline needed
  • Script, shots, voice and cuts
  • Works with your own footage
  • Reviews its own result

What vibe editing means

Vibe editing borrows its name from vibe coding, where people build apps by describing them to an AI instead of writing every line. Applied to video, it means the same shift: you stop operating the tools and start directing the result.

In a classic editor you think in clips, keyframes and tracks. In vibe editing you think in outcomes: “make the first second hit harder”, “this needs to feel premium”, “cut it for Reels”. The agent translates that into the actual steps, and if a shot doesn't exist yet, it makes it.

It works best for the videos most people make every week: launches, ads, product demos, explainers and short-form posts, where speed and a strong hook matter more than frame-perfect craft.

How to vibe edit a video

  1. 1

    Describe the result

Say what you want the video to feel like and do: "a punchy 15-second launch for our new sneaker, street at night, ends on the logo". Add footage, a photo or a reference if you have one.

  2. 2

    React, don't operate

Kiryu proposes the hook, script and shots. You answer like you would to an editor: "faster", "warmer", "lose the second shot", "make the hook a question".

  3. 3

Let the agent do the steps

Kiryu runs the tools: generates the clips, adds the voiceover and music, cuts, crops to 9:16 and captions. Each step shows its price before it runs.

  4. 4

    Check it and go again

Send the cut back and Kiryu reviews it frame by frame, then fixes what's weak. Repeat until it feels right.

Vibe editing vs a classic editor

You give direction

"Warmer, faster, end on the product" instead of hunting for the right panel.

Missing shots get made

Need a close-up you didn't film? The agent generates it with Seedance or Seedream.

Words come with it

Hooks, script, voiceover and captions are part of the same conversation.

Feedback is built in

The agent can watch the cut and tell you what's weak before you post.

Still yours to finish

Everything lands in your library, ready for the free timeline editor if you want fine control.

Pay per result

Each step shows its credit price before it runs.

Vibe editing prompts to try

  • Make a 15-second launch video for this product photo, moody and premium
  • Write three hooks for this clip and put the best one on screen
  • Cut my video to the best 20 seconds and make it 9:16 with captions
  • Add a calm female voiceover reading this script, with soft music under it
  • Watch this and tell me why people stop at second 4

Prefer to do the cutting yourself? Try the free video editor, or let Kiryu review your video first.

Made for organic TikTok, Reels and Shorts

Kiryu is built for the videos people find in their feed, not on a billboard. Everything it writes and makes starts from how short-form is actually watched: a thumb ready to scroll, sound often off, and about three seconds to earn the rest.

  • Hooks written for the first three seconds, with the on-screen text and first shot
  • Formats that work on short-form right now: skits, before and after, storytime, UGC, series
  • Vertical 9:16, captions that sit clear of the app's buttons, and the right length per platform
  • Posting plans for a week or a month, with a reason for every post
  • Reviews that check where people stop watching and whether your call to action lands

Vibe editing questions

What is vibe editing?

Vibe editing is making and editing video by describing what you want instead of operating an editor yourself. You give direction in plain words, and an AI agent turns it into the script, shots, voice, cuts and captions. The name comes from vibe coding, where people build software by describing it to an AI.

Is vibe editing the same as an AI video editor?

Not quite. Most AI video editors add AI buttons to a timeline: auto captions, remove silences, resize. In vibe editing the conversation is the interface. You talk about the result, and the agent decides which tools to run and in what order, including making new footage when you don't have it.

Do I still need editing skills?

No, but taste helps. You decide what's good; the agent does the clicking. If you do want hands-on control, KreatorFlow also has a free timeline editor, and everything Kiryu makes lands in your library to use there.

What can I vibe edit with Kiryu?

Kiryu can set up Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 video, Seedream images and image edits, Lip Sync talking videos, Voiceovers, music and sound effects, Kitsune motion transfer, Face Swap, Kartoonz cartoons, Cuts, trims, joins, crops, speed, captions and 9:16, Transcripts, speech translation and voice cloning, all from one chat.

Can I vibe edit footage I already have?

Yes. Upload a clip and ask for what you want: shorter, 9:16, captions, a new voiceover, a different opening. Kiryu can also review it first and tell you what to change.

Is it free to try?

Yes. A verified free account gets 15 messages and 1 video review a day with Kiryu. What you make from the chat uses your credits, the same as in the studio.

You don't edit anymore. You vibe.
