Kiryū for Reels
AI feedback on your Instagram Reels, before you post
Upload a Reel and Kiryu watches it the way a stranger in the feed would: frame by frame, with the sound on. You get timestamped notes on the opening, captions, audio and call to action, the three fixes that matter most, and a rewritten first three seconds.

Feedback from someone who hasn't seen it fifty times
The hardest part of editing your own Reel is that you already know what happens next. Instagram Reels feedback from Kiryu starts cold: it samples the video frame by frame, closest in the opening, transcribes what's said, reads every word of on-screen text and notes each cut and silence. Then it reviews the Reel against that record, with a timestamp on every point.
Before you see it, a second pass compares each factual claim in the review with what was actually in the video and drops anything it can't back up. If the Reel has no audio, it says so rather than guessing about the sound.
How to get feedback on a Reel
- 1
Export the Reel before you post it
Upload the finished file from your editor or camera roll to a Kiryu chat. Feedback is most useful before posting, while changing the opening is still free.
- 2
Tell Kiryu who it's for
Say it's an Instagram Reel and what you want from it: reach to new people, saves, sends to friends, or clicks to your link in bio. A Reel made for followers and one made for strangers need different openings.
- 3
Fix the top three, then post
Work through the three fixes Kiryu ranks first. It can recut, re-caption or crop the Reel in the same chat, and you can ask it to review the new version too.
What Kiryu checks in a Reel
The hook
The first three seconds: what a viewer sees, reads and hears, and whether they would stop scrolling.
Retention and pacing
Shot lengths, dead spots and the moments attention is likely to drop, segment by segment.
Clarity of the idea
Whether it is obvious what the video is and why someone should keep watching.
Captions and on-screen text
The wording, quoted back to you, plus timing, placement, legibility and safe zones.
Audio
Voice against music, music fit, sound design and silences.
Visual quality
Framing, lighting and visible artefacts.
Call to action
Whether there is one, when it lands and whether it is clear.
Platform fit
Aspect ratio, safe zones and length for TikTok, Reels or Shorts.
What's different about Reels
Where Instagram works differently from TikTok and Shorts, and which part of the review covers it.
| On Instagram | Why it matters | Covered by |
|---|---|---|
| Opening frame | The first frame decides the scroll, and it's often the cover too. A blurry or mid-blink first frame hurts twice. | The hook check: what's seen, read and heard in the first three seconds. |
| Text placement | Instagram puts your username, caption and audio label along the bottom and the buttons on the right. | Captions and on-screen text: wording, timing, legibility and safe zones. |
| Something worth sending | Instagram has said sends to friends are a strong signal for reaching new people. A clear, quotable point gets sent. | Clarity of the idea, and whether the call to action asks for the share. |
| Recycled clips | Instagram has said it may show less of content visibly reposted from other apps, such as a Reel with another app's watermark. | Visual quality and on-screen text, where a leftover logo or watermark shows up. |
| Sound | Reels autoplay in a feed full of other sound. A late or quiet voice gets talked over. | Audio: voice against music, silences, and whether the point is clear without the music. |
Two more Instagram habits worth building: pick a cover frame that still reads when your profile grid crops it, and if you're unsure between two openings, post one as a trial Reel to non-followers first where that option is available to you. Kiryu can review both cuts before you choose.
What you get back
- A note on each of the eight checks, each with a timestamp
- The three fixes that would help most, in order of impact
- A rewritten opening: on-screen text, first line and first shot
- The timeline of what Kiryu saw, so you can check any note
- Edits made in the chat: trims, captions, crops to 9:16
Prefer to make the changes by hand? Open the Reel in the free Instagram Reels editor. Posting the same video to TikTok as well? The TikTok video analyzer covers what changes there.

Reels feedback questions
How do I get feedback on my Instagram Reel?
Upload the Reel to Kiryu, say it's for Instagram and what it should do, and you get timestamped notes on the hook, pacing, captions, audio, call to action and platform fit, plus the three fixes that would help most and a rewritten opening.
Does Kiryu read my Instagram insights?
No, it doesn't connect to Instagram. It reviews the video file. If your insights show viewers leaving at a certain second, tell Kiryu that timestamp and it will look at exactly what's on screen then.
Can it review a Reel I first posted on TikTok?
Yes. Upload the clean file if you have one. If you only have the version saved from TikTok, Kiryu can point out the watermark it sees, which is worth removing before you post the Reel.
Does it work for Stories or feed videos too?
It reviews any video file. Tell Kiryu where it's going (a Story, a feed video or an ad) and it checks the ratio and safe zones for that instead of Reels.
Is Reels feedback free?
A verified free account gets 1 free video review a day, together with 15 chat messages. Paid plans include more reviews in their daily Kiryu allowance.
Will the feedback tell me how many views my Reel will get?
No. It can't predict views or see how Instagram will distribute the Reel. It shows you what a new viewer sees and hears, second by second, and where they are likely to lose interest.
