What the Whip Pan Transition template does
The shot holds on the first scene for two seconds, whips right with heavy motion blur, and locks off on the second scene at two and a half seconds. The environment changes in the middle of the whip, so the cut is hidden.
The match element does the storytelling: a coffee cup becomes a mug, a door handle becomes a lever. The two scenes can look completely different as long as that object lines up.
