A Luma Dream Machine alternative with Seedance

Luma AI built one of the first popular AI video tools, Dream Machine. When we checked Luma's own pages on 30 September 2026, it described Dream Machine as an older, deprecated name replaced by its Ray models, with Ray3.2 released in June 2026. Its pricing page listed paid individual plans and team plans but no free plan, and said the individual plans include Luma's models plus third-party models, among them ByteDance's Seedance, Kling and Veo.

Type what you want to see, choose a length from 4 to 15 seconds and an aspect ratio, and render. That is all you need for a first clip. When you want more control, add up to 9 reference images, 3 clips and 3 audio files to the same render, or start from a still with image to video AI.

For cinematic camera work, the AI video effects library has one-click templates such as the through-the-window drone shot, the crane down sky reveal and the top-down god view. For a recurring person or mascot, save them once in the AI character generator and the same face appears in every shot.

A 5-second Seedance 2.0 clip costs 15 credits at 720p and 25 at 1080p. Seedance 2.0 Fast costs 12 credits for 5 seconds at 720p, which is ideal for drafts. Camera templates add 2 credits. The Creator plan is $19 for the first month, then $25 a month; all plans are on the pricing page.

On the Pro, Max and Business plans, Seedance video renders use BytePlus's unrestricted endpoints, which refuse far fewer ordinary creative requests. Content involving minors, non-consensual imagery of real people, impersonation and anything illegal is still not allowed on any plan. The Acceptable Use Policy lists the full rules.
