Where video COGS really comes from

Per-second price is the biggest line, but not the only one. Three things decide what one delivered video costs you:

The rate you pay per second

List rate times seconds generated. Moving the same model to a lower listed price changes margin on every video at once.

Retries and throwaways

Users regenerate. Count every generated second, then divide by delivered videos. Shorter drafts at 720p before a 1080p final keep this down.

Failures you still pay for

On KreatorFlow a failed job is not charged. Check how your current provider bills timeouts and refused prompts.

At 10,000 Seedance 2.0 videos a month, the median listed provider in the table costs $2.00 a video against $1.10 at the KreatorFlow list rate: about $8,950 a month back into gross margin, before any volume tier.

Built for apps in production

  • Volume tiers on Seedance video: 5%, 7.5% and 10% off the list rate from $1,000, $2,500 and $5,000 in top-ups over 30 days.
  • Video requests per minute by tier: 20, 60, 120 and 300. No separate cap on jobs running at once.
  • Webhooks when a job finishes, plus polling if you prefer.
  • Reusable characters: register a face or character once and pass its id in later jobs.
  • Prepaid tokens, no subscription; failed jobs are not charged.
  • MCP servers, so assistants and agents in your product can make videos directly.

Switching providers without a rewrite

  1. 1

Get a key and test credit

Create an API key in the developer console and run your own prompts side by side with your current provider.

  2. 2

    Map your parameters

Model, duration, resolution, aspect ratio and references map one to one. The docs show request and response examples for each endpoint.

  3. 3

    Route a share of traffic

Send a slice of jobs through KreatorFlow, compare quality, speed and cost per delivered video, then move the rest.

AI video API questions from SaaS teams

What does an AI video cost per generation on the KreatorFlow API?

At the list rate, a 10-second 720p Seedance 2.0 video is $1.10 and a 10-second 1080p one is $2.40; Seedance 2.5 at 720p is $2.10. You pay per second of output video from prepaid tokens, rounded up to whole tokens.

How do I calculate my video COGS?

Multiply the per-second price by the seconds you generate, including retries and drafts your users throw away, then divide by the videos you actually deliver. That cost per delivered video, against what you charge for it, is your gross margin per video.

Are there volume discounts?

Yes, on Seedance video: 5%, 7.5% and 10% off the list rate from $1,000, $2,500 and $5,000 in top-ups over 30 days. The discount applies automatically; there is no contract.

What are the rate limits?

Video requests per minute go up with the volume tier: 20, 60, 120 and 300. There is no separate cap on how many jobs run at once.

Am I charged for failed generations?

No. A job that fails is not charged, and its tokens go back to your balance.

Is there a subscription or minimum spend?

No subscription. Top-ups start at $20.00, and tokens do not need a monthly plan.

Which models can my app use?

Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.0 Fast, Seedance 2.5, Wan 3.0, Seedream images, OmniHuman 2.0 lip sync and text to speech, all with the same key. KreatorFlow is an official partner of BytePlus, a ByteDance company.
