Short answer

ChatGPT and Claude can't render video on their own, but they can plan it and, with a video tool connected, make it. Add the KreatorFlow MCP connector (https://kreatorflow.ai/api/mcp), point it to your product photo (a public link or a file in your KreatorFlow Assets), and ask for the clip: it writes the shot list, starts a Seedance 2.5 video on your KreatorFlow account and replies with the link, a 5-second 720p Seedance 2.5 clip costs 24 credits. Without the connector, ask ChatGPT or Claude for the prompt and paste it into the KreatorFlow video studio.

How to make the product video from the chat

  1. 1

Be on a paid KreatorFlow plan

The connector works on Creator, Pro, Max or Business, and during the $3 48-hour trial. The clip is billed to your KreatorFlow credits; your ChatGPT or Claude subscription is separate.

  2. 2

Add KreatorFlow as a custom connector

In ChatGPT or Claude, add a custom connector with the server URL https://kreatorflow.ai/api/mcp, sign in with your KreatorFlow account and press Allow. The exact clicks for each app are below.

  3. 3

Put the product photo where the connector can reach it

Upload the photo in your KreatorFlow Assets, or have it at a public https link. The connector's upload_media tool copies it into your workspace; a photo dropped into the chat window is not passed on by itself.

  4. 4

Ask the assistant to save it as a reusable reference

Say "save this photo as a reference called Bottle". The assistant runs save_character and gets an @handle back. It is ready for video prompts once list_characters shows it as ready, usually about a minute later.

  5. 5

Ask for the shot list, then the clip

Describe the product, the setting and the platform. The assistant writes a shot list and a prompt, and when you approve it, calls generate_video. Without settings you get Seedance 2.5 at 5 seconds, 720p and 16:9; ask for vertical (9:16) for Reels or TikTok.

  6. 6

Wait for the link, then adjust

The assistant checks the job with get_job and replies with the video link. The clip is also saved to your KreatorFlow History. Ask for changes one at a time: a different light, a slower move, a vertical cut.

Two ways to do it

Both end with a Seedance clip in your KreatorFlow account. The difference is who presses Generate.

What a product clip costs

Credits come from the same code the studio uses to charge, so a clip costs the same through ChatGPT, Claude or the studio. KreatorFlow adds no fee for the connector.

1080p and 4K need Pro, Max and Business. Failed and blocked generations give their credits back automatically. Your ChatGPT or Claude plan is paid to OpenAI or Anthropic and is separate.

Can ChatGPT or Claude make a product video by themselves?

No. Both are good at the planning: a hook, a shot list, the words for the light and the camera move, captions and a voiceover script. Neither renders a video file in the chat. To get a clip you need a video model, either connected as a tool or used separately.

KreatorFlow is that video model, connected as a tool. KreatorFlow is an official partner of BytePlus, a ByteDance company, and the connector runs ByteDance's Seedance for video. It gives your assistant 21 tools, including generate_video, upload_media, save_character and get_job, all working on your own KreatorFlow account.

Connect KreatorFlow in ChatGPT

Server URL: https://kreatorflow.ai/api/mcp. Which ChatGPT plans and workspaces can add custom servers is set by OpenAI and your admin.

  • In ChatGPT, open the Plugins page, click + and choose Add custom MCP server (your account or workspace settings decide whether custom servers are allowed).
  • Name it KreatorFlow, paste the server URL under Connection and choose OAuth as the authentication.
  • Confirm the warning, sign in with your KreatorFlow account and press Allow.

Connect KreatorFlow in Claude

Same server URL, on Claude on the web or Claude Desktop. In Claude Code it is one terminal command, shown below.

Claude Code command

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user kreatorflow https://kreatorflow.ai/api/mcp

  • In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, click + Add and choose Add custom connector (on Team and Enterprise plans an Owner adds it first under Organization settings, then you click Connect).
  • Name it KreatorFlow, paste the server URL and click Continue.
  • Sign in with your KreatorFlow account, press Allow, then click Add.
  • In a chat, click + at the lower left, open Connectors, turn KreatorFlow on and ask for an image or a video.

Example requests for a product video

Type these as normal chat messages once the connector is on. They are examples of what to ask, not recorded transcripts; the assistant's replies vary.

Start with the brief, so the assistant plans before it spends anything:

One-message version

Make a 5-second vertical video of my product on a matte black turntable, slow orbit, one hard key light from the side, glossy highlights moving across the surface. Show me the prompt first.

  • "I sell a glass serum bottle with a gold dropper. Write a shot list for a 5-second vertical clip for TikTok: one shot, one camera move. Show me the prompt before you generate."
  • "Here's the product photo: [public link]. Copy it into KreatorFlow and save it as a reference called Serum."
  • "Use @Serum in the prompt and make it: the bottle on wet black stone, slow push-in, soft rim light, 9:16."
  • "Same shot, but a 16:9 version for the website."
  • "Write three different hooks for the same product and make the first one."

What to tell the assistant about your product

The assistant writes better prompts when you give it facts, not adjectives. Tell it what the product is made of, what must stay visible, and where the clip will run.

  • The material and finish: glass, brushed metal, matte plastic, fabric.
  • What must stay readable or visible: the label, the logo side, the lid.
  • One camera move per clip: push-in, orbit, top-down rotation, tilt up.
  • The light and the surface: soft box from above on pale stone, hard side light on black acrylic.
  • The format: 9:16 for Reels, TikTok and Shorts, 1:1 for the feed, 16:9 for YouTube and your site.
  • The length: Seedance 2.5 clips run from 4 to 30 seconds.

No connector? Use ChatGPT for the prompt and the studio for the clip

If your ChatGPT or Claude plan can't add custom connectors, or you'd rather press Generate yourself, split the job. Ask the assistant for the shot list and a single prompt, then open the KreatorFlow video studio, add your product photo as a reference, paste the prompt and pick the format.

In the studio, Seedance 2.0 takes up to 9 reference images, so you can add the packaging or the logo next to the product photo. The studio shows the credit cost before you generate: 15 credits for 5 seconds at 720p with Seedance 2.0. For a ready-made camera move, the Product Reveal template does a product reveal in one clip.

Ask ChatGPT or Claude

Write one Seedance video prompt for a 5-second product clip of [your product]. Say what is on screen, the surface, the light and one camera move. Keep it under 60 words.

What this can't do

Honest limits, so you know before you start:

  • ChatGPT and Claude don't make the video file themselves. Without a connected video tool, they can only write the plan and the prompt.
  • The connector needs a paid KreatorFlow plan or the trial. Free accounts can't connect.
  • A photo attached in the chat isn't sent to the connector by itself. It needs a public link or to be in your KreatorFlow Assets first.
  • One clip is one shot of 4 to 30 seconds. A longer ad with several shots means several clips, joined in an editor.
  • 1080p and 4K are on Pro, Max and Business only; on other plans the tool replies with the plan message and the assistant can offer 720p.
  • AI video can change small text and fine details. Check the label, logo and colours in every clip before you publish it, and regenerate if they drift.
  • Your assistant app sets its own rules: which plans can add connectors, and whether tool calls need confirming.

Questions other guides skip

Answered from the KreatorFlow connector's own code.

Can I just attach the product photo in ChatGPT and say "make a video"?

Not on its own. The connector's video tool, generate_video, takes a text prompt plus settings; it has no image field. A product photo reaches the video through your KreatorFlow library: upload_media copies it in from a public link or from your Assets, save_character turns it into an @handle, and the prompt names that @handle. The assistant can run all three for you once the photo has a link.

Does the assistant pick the camera move and wording?

Yes, unless you say otherwise. The assistant writes the prompt it sends to generate_video. If you want to approve it first, ask it to show the prompt before it generates. That costs nothing, because no job starts until generate_video runs.

Will it spend credits without asking?

Each generate_video call starts a paid job on your account. ChatGPT may ask you to confirm tool calls, and in any app you can tell the assistant to wait for your go-ahead before each clip. Failed and blocked jobs give their credits back automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Can ChatGPT create a product video?

Not by itself. With the KreatorFlow connector added as a custom MCP server (https://kreatorflow.ai/api/mcp), ChatGPT can write the shot list and start a Seedance 2.5 clip on your KreatorFlow account, then reply with the link. Without it, ChatGPT can write the prompt for you to paste into a video tool.

Can Claude make videos from a product photo?

Yes, with the KreatorFlow connector. Give Claude a public link to the photo or pick it from your KreatorFlow Assets; Claude copies it in with upload_media, saves it with save_character as an @handle, and uses that @handle in the generate_video prompt.

How much does it cost to make a product video with ChatGPT?

The chat part is covered by your ChatGPT or Claude plan. The clip spends KreatorFlow credits at studio prices: a 5-second 720p Seedance 2.5 clip is 24 credits. There is no extra fee for the connector, and failed jobs are refunded automatically.

Which KreatorFlow plan do I need to use it in ChatGPT or Claude?

Creator, Pro, Max or Business, or the $3 48-hour trial. 1080p and 4K need Pro, Max and Business. If you'd rather not connect anything, any KreatorFlow account can paste a ChatGPT-written prompt into the video studio.

Do I need an API key or any code?

No. You paste one server URL into ChatGPT or Claude, sign in on KreatorFlow's own page and press Allow. There is nothing to install and no key to copy.

Is KreatorFlow made by OpenAI or Anthropic?

No. KreatorFlow is an independent AI video and image studio. Its connector works in ChatGPT and Claude because both apps support custom MCP connectors; neither company makes, endorses or partners with it.
