A drawing that speaks in its own style

Lip Sync on KreatorFlow runs ByteDance's OmniHuman 2.0, an audio-driven model: the voice leads the performance. It reads the audio and animates the drawn face for you, so a sketch can greet a friend, explain a comic panel or present your portfolio. KreatorFlow is an official partner of BytePlus, a ByteDance company and runs the model through BytePlus.

How to make a drawing talk in three steps

  1. 1

    Photograph or scan the drawing

Use a flat, well-lit picture of the drawing with the whole face in view. A scan or a straight-on phone photo works better than one taken at an angle.

  2. 2

    Add the voice

Upload a voice track as an MP3 or WAV, 4 seconds to 5 minutes long, or type the line and pick one of our voices.

  3. 3

    Generate the talking drawing

Add an optional direction, such as keeping the pencil lines and paper texture, choose 720p or 1080p and press Generate. The price shows first: 4 credits per second at 720p.

Tips for drawings

  • Draw a real mouth. A mouth with lips, even a simple one, animates better than a single line.
  • Face forward. Front or three-quarter views lip sync more cleanly than profiles.
  • Even light, no glare. Shadows and shine on the paper can look like part of the face.
  • Crop around the character. A face that fills more of the frame gives cleaner mouth movement.
  • Test 10 seconds first. Make a short clip at 720p before a long take at 1080p.

A character in your comic says its line out loud for a reel or a teaser.

A self-portrait that introduces you and your work.

A drawn card that says happy birthday in your own recorded voice.

Storyboard pitch

Key frames of a story idea that speak their dialogue before a full production.

Lesson host

A drawn character that explains a topic for a course or a class.

Sketchbook reel

A doodle that sings a few lines of a song you wrote.

Consent and responsible use

Lip Sync makes the person in a photo say whatever the audio says, so it comes with clear rules. On the website you confirm, the first time you generate with a new photo, that you are that person or have their permission. Photos are screened before anything is charged, and photos with nudity or of minors are refused.

  • Use a photo of yourself, or of someone who has given you permission to make them speak. A character you created, an animal or a drawing is fine.
  • Use a voice you have the right to use: your own, one of our voices, a voice you cloned with consent, or a recording you have permission for. The same goes for any music or song.
  • No sexual content, nothing involving anyone under 18, and no impersonation: never make a real person appear to say something they did not say in order to mislead, harass or defraud.
  • No celebrities, politicians or other public figures unless they have given you permission and you hold the rights for that use.
  • When you post a talking video of a real person, say that it is AI-generated. Many platforms require that label.

Talking drawing questions

How do I make a drawing talk?

Upload a picture of the drawing to KreatorFlow Lip Sync, add a voice track, and press Generate. OmniHuman 2.0 animates the mouth to the words and moves the face and head with the voice, so the drawing speaks without any frame-by-frame animation.

What kinds of drawings work?

Pencil sketches, ink drawings, watercolours, digital art, comic panels and doodles all work, as long as the face has a clear mouth. Stick figures and faces with no mouth give the model little to animate.

Will it keep my drawing style?

The video starts from your picture, so lines, colours and paper come from it. Ask in the direction for the style to stay unchanged, and keep camera moves small in long takes.

Can the drawing sing?

Yes. Add a song you have the rights to instead of speech, and the drawing sings it, with the mouth on the lyrics.

How long can the video be?

4 seconds to 5 minutes per video. The video is as long as your audio.

How much does a talking drawing cost?

4 credits per second at 720p and 6 at 1080p. A 20-second clip is 80 credits at 720p. Lip Sync needs a paid plan (from $19 for the first month on Creator) or a credit pack (from $8).

Can I use someone else's artwork?

Use your own drawings, or art you have permission to use. Artwork made by others is protected by their copyright.
